Glenn Grothman: absolutely right to run for Senate.

Let me be among the first:

Senator Grothman: please, please, please, run against Senator Feingold.

From the local paper:

Speculation on a possible challenger for U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold has conservatives casting an eye toward state Sen. Glenn Grothman, a West Bend Republican.

Elections will be held on Nov. 2 for 36 of the 100 seats in the U.S. Senate.

“Lots of people have asked me about whether I’d run for his seat,” Grothman said.

I agree. Go Glen Go!

(I realize your goal is to get rid of Glen in the state senate seat, but all Democrats are vunerable this fall...Glen could beat Russ.)

My question is, why are you so willing to throw Russ under the bus?

And if you feign "pure" intentions here, are you willling to back it up with a campaign donation to Glen's U.S. Senate campaign? I'll look up the maximum contribution possible for you and your wife.

Grin, one's life becomes public when one runs for an office like Senator. I think Glenn might find that liberating.

I'm afraid Russ would crush him like a bug, the same way he slaughtered off poor Mr. Michels in debate last time -- but this too would be a liberating experience for Glenn, who never actually has to answer to anyone. Even the statewide press, before it can ask a question, simply laughs and shakes its head.

Russ is a good debator.

I got into it with him on health care at one of his town halls at UWM.

But don't count Glen out on his debate ability. A top Conservative dealing with the rabid Madison liberal press core all these years can really sharpen your debating skills....

and Glen was by no means a debating slouch when I debated him back in 1993.

A Senate run would produce more gems like today's.

@Kevin -

Grothman COULD beat Feingold? What planet of reality are YOU living on? Feingold would liquidate Grothman - Grothman has made an utter ass of himself and Feingold would just fan the flames as Grothman self-destructs. It would be fun to watch Glenny boy say "bye-bye" to a career in public office. Perhaps a vacant state senate seat would be your path to fame, Kevin. Maybe you could face off in a general election against West Bend's Morality Sheriff, Ginny Maziarka! Now, that would be a contest to watch!
